I’ve got some delightful enthusiasms for you this week. Enjoy! Jx
1. A quote I’m resonating with this week
I’ve long been a fan of the work of Joseph Campbell. His encouragement to “follow your bliss” was one of the things that inspired me to start my first company (its tagline was “Do what you love”) and to trust that inner guidance system we all have, but that fewer people are willing to trust and follow. Here’s what Campbell had to say about it:
“If you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in the field of your bliss, and they open the doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”
2. Resolving the roots of youth violence
Last week, Clarity Coaches Robin Lockhart and Dorothy Kolomeisky and I were joined by a group of 35 youth workers from around the world (15 with us in-person in London and the rest via live-streaming) for a 2-day workshop called ‘Resolving the Roots of Youth Violence.
The event was co-sponsored by the Clarity Foundation and the Uplift Foundation, and it was amazing to work with amazing people who are doing some of the most important and challenging work there is, supporting some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in our society.
The impact for the individuals was significant, and represents a small but important step towards my vision of ‘Awakened Humanity’. It was so heartening to be able to work with Clarity Coaches and see the difference we were making, real-time, to people who can put what they’ve learned into practice with young people the very next day.
3. This week’s glimpse of the future (extremely important)
In this week’s ‘Waking Up’ podcast, Sam Harris interviews 2020 US presidential candidate, Andrew Yang on the subject of universal basic income (UBI). This is one of the most important interviews I’ve listened to this year, and I recommend it to everyone. We’re living through the biggest revolution in human history (due to artificial intelligence and other exponential technologies), and the implications are enormous for all of us. I encourage you to listen to this interview and give it your full attention:

4. The work you’re here to do
This Thursday at 7pm UK I’m doing a 90-minute LIVE masterclass called, “The Zero-risk Path to Doing Work You Love (without taking a pay cut)”
In this powerful free training session, I’ll be revealing the #1 reason most people fail to make the transition to doing work you love, and what you can do to change that for yourself in 2018.

The Queens of the Stone Age song, ‘No One Knows’ is great. Check it out here (you may have forgotten how good it is): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s88r_q7oufE
That’s it for this week!
