“Within the soul of all human beings, there lies an innate spiritual knowledge
that has the power to repair mental disturbances …
not through analyzing their thoughts,
but by seeing the power of thought itself.”
~ Sydney Banks
I'm heading to Helsinki – care to join me? This weekend I’ll be heading to Finland to the UNLIMITED 2015 Conference. And in some late-breaking news, it turns out that the whole conference will also be live-streamed, meaning that it's now possible for you to join my friends, colleagues and me from wherever you are in the world. The event is organized by Niko Leppänen and he and I have made a special deal on the live streaming tickets. With the code Clarity10 you will get -10% off the price when you enter the code. – Whether you're joining us in person or via live-streaming, I look forward to connecting with you this weekend!
People often ask me about how to “apply” the principles behind clarity in business. I usually explain, “These principles are already playing out in your business. The power is in starting to see how they’re playing out, and the incredible leverage that makes available to you.”
Three of my friends, colleagues and mentors (Robin Charbit, Sandy Krot and Ken Manning) have many years’ experience helping organisations achieve significant bottom-line results through a deeper understanding of these principles. I’m delighted to announce that they’ve just written a superb book about their work in the business world, Invisible Power: Insight Principles at Work: Everyone’s Hidden Capacity. Here's an excerpt from their book:
The Invisible Power of Understanding Insight Principles
There are actually two invisible powers we refer to in this book.
The first is the invisible power of insight principles working behind the scenes, always generating your reality from within and affording you wisdom and insight. The second invisible power is the transformative nature of realizing the truth of these facts in yourself. This realization can do more to improve your personal and professional life than anything we have come across. The more you understand how something works, the better you adapt and make use of it. Whether it is your computer, a power tool, or your immune system, understanding enables you to take full advantage of the system.
When you understand the basic principles in any aspect of life, it changes how you know your world and what you can do within it. Discovering the principles of physics and aeronautics enables the 800,000-pound Boeing 747 to get off the ground. Understanding the principles of cell biology has led to the eradication of smallpox and the development of life-sustaining treatments for AIDS and many cancers.
With regard to your individual experience of life, realizing the principles of how your mind works will significantly change your life in a number of ways.
First, if you realize that your perceptions and feelings are generated in your mind, you stop seeing events, people, and circumstances as responsible for your inner experiences. You realize that the power to be internally balanced and find your own wisdom and common sense is inside you. Stress and upset can significantly diminish in your life, and may even disappear. You can have a life with more balance and psychological freedom. Your understanding functions like a self-correcting mechanism, allowing your mind to move to balance, clarity and well-being.
Second, you begin to see the invisible, immediate essence of your creative process alive in the moment. You live much more in the present and the quality of your presence becomes deeper and stronger. This happens as thoughts that are riveted on the past or worries about the future no longer seem as compelling. It is akin to turning a light on in a dark room cluttered with boxes and furniture. With light, you can easily get around without tripping over things, hurting yourself, or damaging the furniture.
Third, with more clarity and creativity, your life appears less fixed and riper with possibility. You come to know that your experience will change when your thinking changes, and you have a sense of a flow in life. You develop more faith that a fresh perspective is right around the corner. You find that you do not have to grind hard mentally to be clear and creative.
Lastly, and perhaps the greatest benefit of all, is that you can have a life with richer and more enjoyable feelings. You can learn to allow your system to naturally balance itself more easily and orient to what is positive and wise.
We are personally amazed at how much more energy, creativity, warmth, and love we have in our lives than we did before we learned insight principles.
One beautiful thing about realizing insight principles is that these benefits do not require practice or techniques. These shifts happen when you see the truth of how your mind works.
I highly recommend you pop over to Amazon and grab yourself a copy of Invisible Power. By the way; Ken and Robin are coming to the UK at the end of October to do a special small-group, 3.5 day training for coaches and consultants. They’re looking for a small group of professionals who a) already have a good grounding in the principles, b) have an ongoing practice, and c) are ready to expand their work in a big way. If that’s you, you can reach out to Ken Manning on km@insightprinciples.com.
Wishing you increasing clarity as you uncover your hidden capacity!
Big love
Jamie
P.S. Following the success of the beta-tests, I’m looking for a small group of very specific people for my final 'Project Glasswing' programme of 2015, launching in October. Here’s what I’m looking for:
- You are a coach, therapist or change-worker (e.g. sports coach, psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, business coach, bodyworker etc)
- You have at least one year’s experience of working with clients (either paid, pro-bono or both)
- You probably charge by the hour, but want to use a “coaching package” model to increase your income & make it more consistent
- You have space in your practice to work with at least one longer term contract client, starting in November
- You’re an enthusiastic, friendly people-person
- You have a coachable spirit, and are willing to step out of your comfort zone if necessary, and
- You can keep a secret
If that’s you, then just email me at info@jamiesmart.com, and let me know where you’re located and a little about yourself (if you don’t know what to tell me about, look at the list above for inspiration). Make the subject line “Project Glasswing”. I’ll be choosing people in the next couple of weeks. Talk to you soon! J
