It’s enthusiasm time again. Let me know what you think via twitter at @JamieSmartCom, on my Facebook page, or on my blog below.
1. A quote I’m resonating with this week
I included a quote from the Sufi poet, Rumi towards the end of my first book, CLARITY. This week, I stumbled across the full stanza the quote was excerpted from, and I love it! Here it is in full:
“Run from what’s comfortable. Forget safety. Live where you fear to live. Destroy your reputation. Be notorious. I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now on I’ll be mad.”
2. A keynote to a group of clarity newbies
Last week I did a keynote talk for the employees of two companies, Online Mortgage Advisors and Create Finance. Two of the founders of these companies had already been impacted from exploring the principles behind clarity with me so they wanted to share it with their teams. Most of the 80 people who attended were unfamiliar with this work, and with the world of ‘personal development’ in general, so it was really great to be able to share it with a group of people hearing it for the first time. People were really impacted, and I’m told that the buzz in the offices afterwards was great so I’m looking forward to following up in a few weeks time. You can listen to the full keynote here.
3. This week’s glimpse of the future
Children are the future of humanity. A study by the Children’s Society this week reveals that one in 4 teenage girls in the UK are self-harming. This is a humanitarian crisis. In November, I’m speaking at a conference organised by Clarity Coach Liz Scott and her partner, Stuart Newberry called Resilient Young Minds – A revolutionary approach to wellbeing. This is some of the most important work being done today, so if you want to find out more and join me there, go to https://www.tickettailor.com/events/theclayfactory/185546
4. A 1:1 Coaching Intensive I’m super proud of and excited about
On Tuesday I had a great conversation and Q&A session with Andy, the corporate lawyer I did the 1:1 Coaching Intensive Unpacked with a year ago. Here are some of the questions we got:
– Can you say how your operate in the world before and after the experience?
– How do you make decisions now?
– Andy, would you have been prepared to pay the full price (£30,000) for this?
– What was the biggest new belief that you gained about yourself in those intensives that you felt was most transformative?
5. This week’s 3 minute miracle
I was 13 years old when I first heard the intro to ‘Sweet Jane’ off Lou Reed’s classic animal, Rock and Roll Animal. It blew my mind. The band was as tight as, and the interplay of the 2 lead guitarists, Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter, was truly incredible. It still is. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FdWPeHFAMk
That’s it for this week!
