Almost everyone who’s been touched by the inside-out understanding gets hit by several questions:
1) Why doesn’t everyone know this? Have you asked yourself that? I remember when I first glimpsed this understanding, it qualified as psychology’s best kept secret.
2) What can I do to help get this ‘out there’? Once you start seeing this for yourself, you start to realise just how many people this understanding could help. Almost everyone I know who sees the truth of this for themselves is inspired to share it with others.
And it turns out that’s a profoundly wise impulse. In his recording, Quiet Mind, Sydney Banks says,
“The more you give away, the more you get back… and every time you share… you shed off the old and the new arrives… you must leave room for the new… you must keep it flowing… it’s an energy…”
There’s so much in this short passage:
– As you share the 3P understanding with others, you experience more of it for yourself
– Sharing from insight in real-time clears away old concepts and sparks fresh new realisations
– It’s an energy; while words can be useful, at the heart of what you’re sharing is love; the feeling of falling awake to your true nature
So why is it like this? In another of his recordings (Spiritual Reality) Syd Banks says:
“whatever you send forth into the world… will come back… it has to come back… cause it really never goes anywhere… because it’s you… you’re expressing yourself… try and find positivity… start to enjoy… and all of a sudden you’ll start to see things positive…”
You may have heard me say the two most valuable things a person can discover are how experience is created and who they really are. Lately, I’ve taken to describing my ‘job’ like this:
My job is to be a ‘mirror’ that allows my client to catch a glimpse of who they really are.
I know it’s a strange metaphor, but my experience is that if I can ‘fall awake’ to the truth of my being, my presence helps / allows / encourages my client (or group of clients) to do the same.
There’s a sanskrit word – “namaste” – that speaks to this, roughly translating as “The god in me recognises the god in you. And when I’m in that place in me, and you’re in that place in you, there’s only one of us.”
And here’s the thing: every moment you spend awake to the truth of who you really are, the grip of the ego gets a little weaker, and your alignment to the truth of your being becomes a bit stronger.
That’s why one of the most powerful ways to deepen your understanding of the principles is to share it with others. Which brings us to the third question:
3) Why does it sometimes seem difficult to share this understanding with other people? There are some very common challenges inherent in sharing something both indescribably life-changing and, well… indescribable!
It turns out that sharing the principles is a special kind of ‘communication skill’. I’ve been learning, sharing and teaching other people to share the principles for the past 10 years.
In the process, I’ve run into many of the obstacles, and realised many of the gifts of sharing this understanding with others.
My team and I have created a tool to help you identify where you are in your journey of sharing the principles…
… and how to move forward and develop your ability to communicate this understanding impactfully. It’s totally free to use, and you’ll get personalized insights and actionable steps in just 10 minutes:
