I’ve got some rocking enthusiasms for you this week. Enjoy! Jx
1. A quote I’m resonating with
Sam Harris’ Waking Up podcast is one of the shows I give financial support to. While there’s lots he says that I disagree with, he’s an extremely clear thinker and an honest agent. He’s often maligned (unfairly), but having listened to hundreds of hours of his work, I haven’t heard anything to support the unfair claims made against him. Here’s a quote from his conversation with the also-maligned Dave Rubin that’s got me thinking this week:
“The thing is, most people think there is a lot of bad people running around in the world. There aren’t a lot of bad people. There are a lot of bad ideas, and bad ideas are worse than bad people, ’cause bad ideas are contagious, bad ideas get good people to do horrible things.”
2. GDPR
You may have noticed everyone and their brother asking you to opt in to receive their communications over the past few weeks. “Why would you be enthusiastic about that?” you may ask. Here’s why: because it’s an opportunity for me to refocus everything I do for the people who are most interested in hearing from me. If that’s you, and you want to keep reading these enthusiasms, you need to opt-in here
Say goodbye to Alexa and hello to gadgets listening to the voice inside your head. Is this creepy?

4. A new podcast!
To coincide with the launch of my new book, The Little Book of Results, I’m delighted to announce a new podcast, Get Clarity with Jamie Smart. If you’re already subscribed to the Results Mindset podcast which it’s replacing, you’ll already have received the first episode. But if you’re not, head over to https://www.jamiesmart.com/gcp001/ to listen to it now. The first episode is Realising Resilience, a brief (20 minutes) recording I created to help you tap into your innate capacity for resilience; a capacity that exists within every human being. This may be one of those recordings you decide to listen to over and over again, because it will help point you in the direction of your innate resources.
5. This week’s 3 minute miracle
So I was watching the excellent Janis Joplin documentary, Little Girl Blue a while ago, and it included a clip from the Tom Jones show in 1969 with Janis singing the song of the same name. If you’ve ever wondered why many people consider Joplin to be one of the finest blues singers of all time… this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVpDOIPx_sY
That’s it for this week!
Big love
Jamie
