I’ve got 5 scintillating segments for you this week. Whether they’re yay or yuk, please let me know what you think via twitter at @jamiesmartcom, on my Facebook page here, or in the comment section. At the end, I’ll tell you how you can get one of your #enthusiasms featured in a future edition.
1. A quote I resonate with
Ronald Dahl’s a legend – this one’s from his story My Uncle Oswald.
“I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. He taught me that if you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it at full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be.”
2. A company I dig
I’m blown away by Tesla cars. Every person I know who has one says they’re amazing. Die-hard petrol-heads are converting to electricity. If you want to discover some of the amazing ways Tesla is using machine-learning so that their entire fleet “learns” as a single system, check out this fascinating article.
3. An impassioned defence of fracking (Warning: this contains a lot of swearing)
Have you heard the ongoing debates about fracking? Here’s a very funny (and very sweary) argument for the defence by Ainslie Henderson & Will Anderson. Enjoy!
4. A cause that resonates with me
Allison Haynes, a friend and participant on this year’s Clarity Coach Training Programme is passionate about the plight of refugees around the planet. Watching this, I feel so fortunate to have a home and to live in a country that's not riven by war. Please check out the Ganda Boys video “Forgotten People” and the Indiegogo campaign.
5. An article I enjoyed and learned from
If you got caught up in the media excitement about Back to the Future this week, you might enjoy this article about the physics of time travel. I did!
That’s it for this week. If you have questions, suggestions or want to let me know what you’re enthusiastic about, just tweet one of yours and put my twitter name @jamiesmartcom and the #Enthusiasms hashtag in there so I can find it. If I’m enthusiastic about something you’re enthusiastic about, it might just get featured in a future TTE.
Big love
Jamie
