The enthusiasms are hitting a new level this week. As ever, let me know what you think via twitter at @jamiesmartcom, on my Facebook page here, or in the comments section.
1. A quotation I’m LOVING this week
I’ve been reading a fascinating article by political economist Angus Hervey about the massive and unprecedented decline in war on our planet. Hurrah!
“The world was a far more dangerous place when you were born. Death tolls from wars in the 1970s and 1980s were 4–5 times higher than they are today.
We are, despite reports of religious and political insurgencies, despite high-profile terrorist killings and unrest in various corners of the globe,
living in the most peaceful era of our species’ existence.”
2. Something new I’m super excited about
I’ve been working on some very cool new stuff, and I’ve started the unveiling with the newly formed Exponential Practice Professional Group. This community is for you if you’re a transformation professional (coach, consultant, therapist, trainer, nutritionist etc) and you want to grow your practice, get exponential results and live a life you love. It’s free to join, and I’m doing regular Facebook Live Broadcasts on the 10 practice multipliers you need to grow your professional practice (the videos of the first 2 are available in the group). There are already 170 like-minded professionals connecting in the group, and I haven’t even formally announced it yet! You can sign up for the group free here, and my team and I will approve your request asap (usually within 24 hours). See you there!
3. A terrific article about how the world is getting way more peaceful (despite what you see on the TV)
This is the a fascinating article by political economist Angus Hervey that today’s quote was taken from. He makes the point that there’s much less war / violence / bloodshed, but far more opportunities to see images of it, and to have those images distorted and exploited by politicians and others to meet their own ends. This article is a quick, well-written and hopeful read.
4. The future is now, again!
Watch in amazement as a Chinese firm uses a 3D-printer to create a mansion and an apartment building! This is the future of housing and manufacturing. The world is changing faster than we think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkQSaM43nNw
5. This week’s 3 minute miracle
David Lindley is one of the most wonderful guitarists in the world. He is a master of creating unexpected tones that work together in beautiful ways. He’s also one of the best slide-guitarists I’ve ever heard. His cover of the Peter Tosh and Mick Jagger track Don’t Look Back is so much better than the original – enjoy!
One last thing: Just over three years ago, I launched the first ever Certified Clarity Coach Training Programme. We’ve just completed the 3rd year, and we’re building a close-knit community of highly-skilled, Certified Clarity Coaches and Practitioners. As well as the students who join us live in-person, we’ve got people training with us from all around the world (from as far afield as Brazil and Australia) via our state-of-the-art virtual technology. So I’m happy to announce the 2016 / 2017 programme, and we’ve made some changes. The programme is by application only, and the selection criteria is strict. We’ve just opened the door for applications, and we’ve put a strict limit on numbers (the first 29 people have already booked their places) – so register your interest now to make sure your hat is in the ring. The price goes up at the end of August, so look sharp!
