It’s enthusiasm time again. Let me know what you think via twitter at @JamieSmartCom, on my Facebook page, or on my blog here.
1. A quote I’m resonating with this week
This week’s quote is from entrepreneur, author and social media maven, Gary Vaynerchuk:
“I want my legacy to be something called The Honey Empire. My great ambition in life is to buy the New York Jets, which will mean I’ll have to become a multi-billionaire. If I can build a multi-billion dollar net worth on the back of being a good human being, and teaching the future generations that you can achieve all the financial wants you have by being nice, and being honey over vinegar, that will be far greater legacy than me actually buying the New York Jets.”
2. A fascinating look at separate realities
North Korea is well-known for its use of propaganda, and this (North Korean) propaganda film indicates as much. But here’s the twist; it’s a film made by North Korea to highlight Western propaganda practices to North Korean citizens. The fun and fascination lies in determining where the line between information, misinformation and disinformation actually is. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyFH19nm2e4&sns=em
3. This week’s glimpse of the future
The aforementioned Gary Vaynerchuk shows an incredible talent for forecasting the future of business. In this episode of his podcast, he talks about the future of Facebook as a business tool (among other things) Check it out: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-garyvee-audio-experience/id928159684?mt=2&i=1000382842124
4. A film I loved
The director Jordan Peele makes great movies. The Gift was fantastic, and Get Out is just as good, if not better. Great acting, great script, great direction, and not for the faint of heart. Here’s the trailer! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzfpyUB60YY&feature=youtu.be
5. This week’s 3 minute miracle
There are only a few albums from the 1990s that I still love listening to. Morning Dove White, the only album released by the Scottish electronica group One Dove is one of them. This week’s 3MM is actually a one-minute miracle. Here’s the gorgeous tones of the one and only Dot Allison singing White Love (Piano Reprise) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNBrkg4g2Hw
That’s it for this week!
Thanks and big love,
Jamie
PS The first 21 places on Project Glasswing 8 have already been filled, so there are 15 seats remaining (we expect it to be fully booked by the time we start, as usual.) If you’d like to be considered for one of these 15 places, here’s how you’ll know if you’re a good fit:
– You are a coach, therapist or change-worker (Eg. Sports coach, psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, business coach, bodyworker, consultant etc)
– You have at least one year’s experience of working with clients (either paid, pro-bono or both)
– You probably charge by the hour, but want to use a “coaching package” model and increase your income
– You have room to work with at least one longer term contract client, starting in May 2017
– You want to take your practice to the next level in 2017, and are willing to put step out of your comfort zone if necessary
– You’re an enthusiastic, friendly people-person
– You have a coachable spirit, and
– You can keep a secret
If that’s you, then email me at info@jamiesmart.com, and let me know where you’re located and a little about yourself (if you don’t know what to tell me about, look at the list above for inspiration). Change the subject line to “Project Glasswing TTE”. I’ll be choosing within the next 7 days. Talk to you soon!
