I was saddened to learn that the well-known atheist and brilliant evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins was de-platformed from giving a talk in Berkeley California by folks who don’t like him criticising ideas and belief systems (Dawkins is an avowed anti-religionist). While I disagree with much that Dawkins says, I am passionately in favour of free speech. Promoting hatred against individuals and groups is wrong and deserves our contempt. Criticism of ideas is healthy, and no ideas are above criticism. Not even religious ideas. Here’s a quote from Dawkins:
