A wonderful bit from lecture 4 of Grayson Perry’s wonderful Reith Lectures. While he’s talking about artists, I can’t think of many vocations or callings where this wouldn’t apply.
“Most of the successful artists I’ve met, they’re very disciplined. They turn up on time, they put in the hours and that idea of us all being a bit chaotic and shaky, I think it’s a myth .
